What exactly are
lip fillers?
What do they inject to give lips more volume? If you thought a lip filler involves injecting water, silicone or botox into your lips, you're wrong.
It uses hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally occurring in the body. Hyaluronic acid is produced and broken down by the body. The stories you often hear about "silicone and implants" are in this case nothing more than a myth.

At Sarasin Clinic, we apply a combination of two different injection techniques, namely the Russian Injection technique and the linear technique.
Lip fillers with Russian technique
In a standard lip filler treatment, we aim for a 1/3 - 2/3 ratio. This means that the upper lip comprises 1/3 of the lip volume versus 2/3 for the lower lip. With the - nowadays much sought-after - Russian technique, this is more likely to be 1/2 - 1/2, where both lips are thus given approximately the same volume.

Who are lip fillers suitable for?

It is not a permanent substance which means you would have to inject new lip fillers after 6 to 12 months to maintain the results.
An injection is done by appointment. You book a consultation with our doctors via the website. During the consultation you will receive extensive advice about the treatment(s). If you only want information you only pay for the consultation, if you choose for the treatment you only pay for the fillers.
For lip filling we can apply a strong anesthetic ointment. This will make the treatment painless.
The effects are immediately visible and improve in the following weeks.
If we were to fill in the lips without anesthesia, the vast majority of people hurt very badly. Our lips are one of the most sensitive parts of our body.

The amount of filler needed to fill or lips varies from person to person.
The first time always requires a little more filler than subsequent times. The first time the filler is going to disappear a little faster, full lips you have to build up in stages.
